Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy focused on treating dysfunction in the muscles of the pelvic floor—a group of muscles that support the bladder, uterus or prostate, rectum, and other abdominal organs.
Pelvic floor dysfunction can lead to a range of issues including urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, bowel problems, and sexual dysfunction. Our licensed physical therapists provide personalized, one-on-one pelvic floor therapy to help patients restore function and improve quality of life.

What to Expect During Pelvic Floor Therapy
At PT Hawaii, your comfort, privacy, and well-being come first. Each patient begins with a personalized evaluation in a private, quiet setting, allowing your therapist to understand your symptoms, movement patterns, and pelvic floor function in detail.
When appropriate, your therapist may suggest an internal pelvic floor assessment to gain a more complete understanding of muscle tone, coordination, and strength. This part of the evaluation is always optional and performed only with your full comfort and consent. Patients are also welcome to request the presence of an additional team member during any session for added support.
Your customized treatment plan may include:
Pelvic Floor Muscle Retraining
Learn to correctly engage, relax, and coordinate pelvic muscles.
Manual Therapy
Gentle internal and external techniques to reduce pain, release tension, and improve tissue mobility.
Biofeedback
Technology-assisted training to visualize muscle engagement and improve control.
Therapeutic Exercise
Targeted stretches and strengthening to support pelvic floor function and core stability.
Education & Lifestyle Modifications
Guidance on posture, bladder and bowel habits, ergonomics, and nutrition to support pelvic health and long-term wellness.
